Information/Información
I understand that my child wishes to participate in the Salt Lake Youth Mycology Club (SLYM). SLYM meets at the Glendale public library on the following Tuesdays from 4:30-6pm: * November 15 * November 29 * December 13 * December 27 * January 10 * January 24 * February 7 * February 21 * March 7 * March 21 * April 4 * April 18 * This program is completely voluntary. Attendance will not be tracked. SLYM is not responsible for transportation to or from the library. The purpose of this group is to learn about the wonderful world of fungi! We will be doing hands-on work, including growing mushrooms. Slimy, old, dry or otherwise odd mushrooms should not be consumed. Mushrooms should always be cooked before consumption. Mushrooms that are new to the consumer should always be tried in small quantities to test for food sensitivity. SLYM is not responsible for the mishandling or over consumption of mushrooms. SLYM is open to middle and high school participants and is free. This group is facilitated by Katie Lawson and is a community component of Fungal Focus, LLC.
